Birth Doula Package of Services

 

As a birth doula, my package of services consists of:

- no obligation interview
- 2 prenatal meetings
 - assistance with birth plans and birth options

 - information about optimal fetal positioning for labor
 - unlimited phone, text, and email support during pregnancy and after the birth
 - physical and emotional support throughout your entire labor
 - aromatherapy and massage support during labor
 - on call 24/7 from 37 weeks until you have your baby 
 - photos of birth and newborn baby if you desire
 - lactation support and normal lactation education
 - access to my extensive birth experience and knowledge of labor and birth

 - lending library of books and a resource email full of great tips and links
 - a home visit after the birth to discuss your labor and work on breastfeeding in your home

  After we have met and decide to work together, I like to schedule our prenatal visits for around 32 and 36 weeks so that we have plenty of time before your birth to get to know each other and discuss your wishes or concerns.  I also guide you in formulating your birth prefernces (plan) and will suggest various books, web sites or movies that may be of interest to you (some I even have to loan to you).

  As the end of your pregnancy approaches, we check in more frequently and when you go into labor I am available to come to your home to labor with you there and then proceed with you to the hospital or birthing center (or stay home if that is where you are giving birth!).  I stay with you for your entire labor and, after your baby is born, help you with that initial breastfeeding.  After I leave, I am still available for phone support and will call to check on you the next day and plan our postnatal home visit.  I like to visit you at home within the first 1-2 days after your return.  At the postnatal visit we work on breastfeeding and also review and process the birth.  I also help with any newborn care questions you may have and am able to provide resources in the community if you need additional assistance with anything.

Fees:

  Please contact me to discuss current fees.  After we have decided to work together, I am prepared to step out of my life in a moment's notice and am committed to staying with you throughout the entire process of birthing your baby. I am available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  I also understand that  preparing for the birth of a baby and possible changes in income can be stressful.  I would never want money to be the reason why someone would choose not to have a birth doula and therefore offer financial arrangements.  Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your options.
